Russia’s Eastern Military District has received the first batch of Mil Mi-8AMTSh helicopters in 2017, the district’s press office said on May 30. "The advanced helicopters have arrived for an Eastern Military District army aviation large unit based in the Trans-Baikal Territory [in East Siberia]," the press office said.

India-based aircraft manufacturer HAL carried out first flight of Light Utility Helicopter (LUH)-PT-2 on May 22, 2017 at its facility in Bengaluru. The chopper was flown by Chief Test Pilot Wing Cdr(Retd) Unni K Pillai and Test Pilot Wing Cdr (Retd) Anil Bhambhani. The flight duration was about 22 minutes and pilots reported nil snag.

With these two H225M deliveries, the Armed Forces’ fleet totals 28 H225Ms: 12 for the Air Force, 9 for the Army and 7 for the Navy. "The planes took off from the airfield of the Chkalov Aircraft Plant in Novosibirsk [in West Siberia] and headed for their home station," the press office said.
