Collins Aerospace and GMF to transform Indonesian Air Force C-130H aircraft with modern digital cockpit

The Indonesian Air Force joins a growing list of customers that have selected Collins Aerospace for its C-130H Hercules military transport aircraft modernization effort. Serving as a contractor to GMF, Collins Aerospace will provide its Flight2 avionics solution, that transforms dated analog controls into a modern digital glass cockpit and expands Collins’ position as the global leader in C-130 modifications.

Lockheed Martin and Rafael partner to develop SPICE-250 weapon system for US Military

Lockheed Martin and Rafael Advanced Defense Systems Ltd., of Israel, signed an expanded teaming agreement, allowing the team to jointly develop, market, manufacture and support Rafael's Smart, Precise Impact and Cost-Effective (SPICE) 250 weapon system for sale in the United States and in Poland. This agreement marks the first time SPICE 250 is available for sale to the U.S. military.

Skyborg demonstrates Unmanned-Unmanned Autonomous Teaming at Orange Flag

The Skyborg team conducted a multi-hour flight test on October 26 of the Skyborg autonomy core system (ACS) aboard two General Atomics MQ-20 Avenger tactical unmanned vehicles during the Orange Flag (OF) 21-3 Large Force Test Event at Edwards AFB, California.

GA-ASI awarded OBSS contract from US Air Force Research Lab

General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI) received a $17.8 million award from the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) to design and develop an unmanned Off-Board Sensing Station (OBSS) aircraft. AFRL is developing an open architecture concept Autonomous Collaborative Platform (ACP) to achieve its goals of rapid time-to-market and low acquisition cost, while extending and enhancing the sensing volume of manned platforms.

Israel Missile Defense Organization tests advanced radar on High Availability Aerostat System for missile detection

The Israel Missile Defense Organization has begun testing an Elevated Sensor system designed to detect incoming threats. It is comprised of a High Availability Aerostat System (HAAS) and an advanced radar. It will operate at high altitudes, providing detection & early warning capabilities.

US Air Force awards F-15EX engine contract to General Electric

The United States Air Force awarded a $1,579,662,187 contract to General Electric, GE Edison Works, Cincinnati, Oct. 29, for the purchase of 29 engines — installs and spares — in support of the production of 12 F-15EX Eagle II aircraft. Initial deliveries will begin in October 2023.
