China displayed its L-15 advanced jet trainer at the Dubai Airshow in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on November 14 along with other Chinese arms products, the first time that the Chinese military aviation sector has systematically exhibited its products in a large comprehensive international airshow outside the country since the COVID-19 pandemic.

US Air Force B-1B Lancers participate in Australian Top End exercise

Two USAF Rockwell B-1B Lancer bombers have swept over the Top End for training with the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF). After travelling over 6,000 kilometres from Diego Garcia in the Indian Ocean, the B-1B crews flew emergency diversion familiarisation training at RAAF Base Darwin. Their mission included training with RAAF aviators flying P-8A Poseidon and KC-30A Multi-Role Tanker Transport.

Skyborne Cerberus UAV completes first of type aerial firing demonstration

Skyborne Technologies, a Defence Tech company specialising in smart aerial robotic platforms, have performed a "first of type" aerial firing demonstration of the company's weaponised 5-shot 40mm UAV, the Cerberus GLH. The demonstration was performed in Australia under Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) approvals. The approval/testing site is on a Queensland rural property, on which Skyborne has partially leased, to support ongoing testing and development.  

Korea Aerospace Industries wins $360M maintenance deal with Iraq for T-50IQ trainer jets

Korea Aerospace Industries signed a 360 million U.S. dollar maintenance deal with Iraq. Under the three-year deal, KAI will provide repair and maintenance services for T-50IQ advanced trainer jets operated by the Iraqi air force, as well as training programs for pilots and engineers.

Su-57 radar design to be used in new onboard equipment

Fifth-generation fighter jets are distinguished by a radar with an active phased or active electronically scanned array (AESA). Only several countries in the world can produce such radars. The latest Russian Su-57 fighter jet carries Belka radar with several active phased antenna arrays to provide a maximum view of the airspace, Rostec said.

Rostec lifted the upgraded Ka-226T into the air for the first time

The deeply modernized Ka-226T light helicopter, which is being developed by the Russian Helicopters holding of the State Corporation Rostec, has begun flight tests and made its maiden flight at the Mil and Kamov flight test complex of the National Helicopter Engineering Center. This is the first Russian rotorcraft, the design documentation of which was fully digitalized.
