Chandra Marshall, the vice president of Lockheed Martin's Radar & Sensor Systems business, emphasized the importance of the APY-9 radar as the primary sensor for the E-2D. This radar has a long history of providing crucial support for 21st-century security efforts, ensuring the safety of military personnel. The E-2D Advanced Hawkeye, often referred to as the U.S. Navy's "eyes of the fleet," offers unparalleled surveillance capabilities, simultaneously monitoring air, land, and sea activities. Whenever a Navy carrier deploys aircraft, the APY-9 radar plays a pivotal role in safeguarding the United States and its allies.

The U.S. Navy has allocated funding for 80 out of the 86 planned aircraft in the current program. Additionally, international demand for the E-2D Hawkeye is on the rise, with Japan purchasing 18 units and France acquiring three. This strong demand ensures the continued production of the APY-9 radar into the late 2020s, with ongoing modernization and maintenance support extending into the 2040s.

Lockheed Martin's collaboration with Northrop Grumman on the E-2D program spans over two decades, and the Advanced Hawkeye platform remains vital in delivering critical data for joint forces and first responders. These advancements significantly enhance situational awareness, reducing the time between initial detection and active engagement.

Lockheed Martin is well-recognized for its extensive experience in developing and delivering advanced radar solutions. Their radar systems excel in early warning, counter-target acquisition, situational awareness, and integrated air and missile defense. These radars are versatile, highly reliable, and deployed worldwide, earning the trust of more than 45 nations across six continents.
