“The implemented restructuring ends an important stage in the corporate transformation of UAC, which implies in particular the transition from the three-level to the two-level management system in the corporation. The Sukhoi and MiG brands, strong and known worldwide, will remain in produced aircraft and reputed designer schools will continue developing,” Rostec CEO Sergei Chemezov said in a comment.

“Thus, UAC becomes not only the corporate center of the UAC group but also an operating company that directly manages production and design bureaus, implements aviation programs and develops advanced equipment,” he added.

UAC CEO Yuri Slyusar noted that the companies would preserve designers and other valuable specialists and continue developing aircraft of the future, including unmanned systems and hybrid solutions.

In November 2021, the Aviastar-SP Company, the Voronezh Aircraft Plant (VASO), the Experimental Machine-Building Plant named after V. Myasishchev were merged with the Ilyushin Aviation Complex. The Ilyushin Aviation Complex has come under the direct control of UAC.

According to the press office, the management centralization is being carried out to reduce the number of managerial levels, simplify the corporate structure, eliminate duplicate administrative functions, and reduce general costs. The measures being taken will improve the efficiency of work, financial stability and investment attractiveness of UAC.
