Sukhoi T-50 began its flight test since January 29, 2010 in Komsomolsk (East Russia). A second aircraft joined the tests in early March.

The T-50 fighter was presented for the first time to the public at the International Aerospace Exhibition MAKS-2011 in Zhukovsky (Moscow region), in August 2011.

The 5th generation fighter T-50 is developed in Russia since the 1990s. This is a tactical aircraft that combines the characteristics of a fighter aicraft and a classic bomber.

Invisible to enemy radar, it will feature a new navigation control system and automated defense system. The T-50 has a fundamentally new avionics integrating the function of "electronic control" and modern radar, which allows the pilot to concentrate only on the combat mission. The onboard equipment ensures data exchange in real time with the ground control systems and with other aircraft.

The T-50 will be provided to the Russian army in 2016.
