Two more Mi-8MTPR1 EW helicopters delivered to Russian military
The Radio-Electronic Technologies Group (KRET) has delivered two Mil Mi-8-MTPR1 helicopters with the Rychag-AV jamming station to the Russian Defense Ministry, KRET CEO Nikolai Kolesov said on Wednesday. KRET is a subsidiary of Russia’s state hi-tech corporation Rostec.
"In 2015, the Radio-Electronic Technologies Group fulfilled the state defense contract worth more than 89 billion rubles [$1.3 billion] signed with the Russian Defense Ministry," the CEO said.

"This year, the enterprise continues delivering advanced developments in key areas on time. In particular, two helicopters equipped with the Rychag-AV jamming station have been delivered in the second quarter of 2016 ahead of schedule," he added.

The Russian armed forces will receive a total of 18 such systems by October 2016, at a total cost of 11.5 billion rubles ($186 million).

The Rychag-AV jammer can completely “blind” the enemy within a radius of several hundred kilometers. The Rychag system also stores a database of different military equipment for determining specific targets and delivering the most effective kind of interference.

The new Rychag-AV stations are based on multibeam antenna arrays. In forming the signals, the station uses DRFM (Digital Radio Frequency Memory) technology. This ensures stable reception of signals and radar jamming throughout the station’s range.

The jamming station stores a data base on various threats to the facilities under protection to determine the type of targets and choose the most efficient countermeasures.

The Rychag-AV jamming station has been developed on the basis of Russian-made components and can be mounted on helicopters, aircraft, stationary ground-based and mobile military hardware, including ships.
