Russia has deployed Su-30 fighter jets at the Belbek air base near Crimea’s Sevastopol, acting Sevastopol governor told in an interview Friday, September 12. “New Su-30 aircraft have already been deployed in Belbek,” Sergei Menyailo said.

He did not say how many Su-30 fighter jets were deployed, but local media sources estimated their number at up to 20 aircraft.

According to the official, the Russian Defense Ministry plans to deploy military aircraft at four airfields in Crimea, including Belbek.
