Russia reportedly already working on 6th generation fighter aircraft technologies
 
According to Russian media RIA Novosti, Russia has already completed the design of 6th generation fighter composite materials, said Director of Advanced Research Projects Fund (FPI) Andrei Grigoriev on Wednesday, October 15.

"Our mission is to lay the foundation for the creation of a 6th generation fighter. Several projects are under consideration. They focus primarily on materials and engines. An interesting project to create  unique performance engines in cooperation with the consulting firm Lioulka is under consideration,"said M.Grigoriev .

The FPI is  also examining projects on composite materials for future fighter. "This is especially methods to monitor the status of composite materials," said M.Grigoriev.

Russia is currently conducting tests on 5th generation fighter Sukhoi T-50 (PAK FA) which will be supplied in 2016. Combining the characteristics of a striking aircraft and a classic fighter, the T-50 is equipped with fundamentally new avionics integrating the function of "electronic steering" and an active antenna radar.
