The Light Combat Helicopter (LCH) Technology Demonstrator TD-3 made the successful maiden flight here today. “Escorted by a Dhruv helicopter, the entire flight was flawless. It will be an effective weapon platform to deliver precision strikes at high altitude and we are confident it will meet the requirements of the IAF”, says Dr. R.K. Tyagi, Chairman HAL. “We are making all efforts to achieve IOC by September next year”, he adds.

The two-seater aircraft piloted by Gp Capt Vivart Singh along with Gp Capt Anoop Kabadwal took to the skies on Saturday afternoon. During the 36-minute flight, all systems functioned as expected, according to a release from the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) office in here.

Lockheed Martin received a $40.3 million contract from the U.S. Air Force for follow-on production of Paveway II Plus Laser Guided Bomb (LGB) kits. The contract represents the majority share of fiscal year 2014 funding and the eighth award under the five-year indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contract. Deliveries will begin in June 2015 and will include computer control groups and airfoil groups for GBU-10 and GBU-12 bombs.

Korea Aerospace Industries announced on November 7 the delivery and deployment ceremony of KT-1P aircraft's first batch. The event was held both in celebration of delivery of the first batch of 2 units among the total 20 KT-1Ps for which Korea Aerospace Industries Ltd (KAI) signed a contract of approximately $200 million with Peru in November 2012 and the deployment of those aircraft in the South American country.

A Russian-made RD-93 engine will power the Chinese J-31 fifth generation fighter, Rosoboronexport official told RIA Novosti Monday. "J-31 with the Russian engine RD-93 is considered to be an export program, able to compete with the American F-35 fifth generation aircraft on the regional markets," Rosoboronexport’s Air Force Equipment Export Department Head Sergey Kornev told RIA Novosti in an interview.
