First Portuguese KC-390 has arrived


The first Embraer KC-390, PT-ZDK (c/n 390000011), for the Força Aérea Portuguesa (Portuguese Air Force) has arrived on October 16 at its new homebase Beja (BA 11).

The first KC-390 aircraft acquired by the Portuguese State is already on Portuguese soil. Escorted by two Air Force F-16Ms, this morning, October 16 , the first of five aircraft with national colors landed in Beja, at Air Base N.º 11 ( BA11 ).

Now follows the phase of integration of NATO equipment and certified by the National Aeronautical Authority, before delivery to the Air Force.

It is recalled that Portugal acquired five KC-390 aircraft and a simulator in 2019, and the first Portuguese crew successfully completed the qualification course in November 2021.
