Bell delivers 189th and final AH-1Z Viper attack helicopter to US Marine Corps

In a ceremony at the Amarillo Assembly Center, Bell Textron celebrated the delivery of the 189th AH-1Z Viper attack helicopter to the U.S. Marine Corps, completing the Program of Record (POR) for the latest version of the storied H-1 platform. Bell completed the UH-1Y POR of 160 aircraft in 2018 bringing the combined H-1 POR to 349 aircraft.

Royal Australian Air Force to replace 12 aging C-130J with 24 new C-130J-30 Super Hercules

On November 2, 2022, the U.S. State Department made a determination approving a Foreign Military Sale to the Government of Australia of Lockheed Martin C-130J-30 aircraft and related equipment for an estimated cost of $6.35 billion. The Defense Security Cooperation Agency delivered the required certification notifying Congress of this sale. So, the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) will be replacing its current fleet of 12 Lockheed Martin C-130J Super Hercules tactical transport aircraft as part of efforts to improve mobility capabilities.

Northrop Grumman taps Quickstep for Australian-made components to support F-35 program

Northrop Grumman announced on November 2 that it signed a six-year agreement with Quickstep Holdings Limited for the supply of components to support the global aerospace program. The order was signed under an existing Memorandum of Understanding with the Australian-owned and operated company, with work to be completed in Sydney, New South Wales.

Bell Textron on November 1 announced the signed agreement for the sale of 10 Bell 505 helicopters to the Royal Jordanian Air Force (RJAF) at The Special Operations Forces Exhibition & Conference (SOFEX) in Aqaba, Jordan.

Niger Air Force to get TAI Hurkus light attack aircraft from Turkey

Niger becomes the first country in Africa to purchase Turkey’s Hurkus aircraft, Defense News Nigeria tweeted. This is the latest in a series of weapons Niger is acquiring from Turkey, a list that includes the Bayraktar TB2 drones and armored vehicles. Africa is gradually becoming Turkey's most important defence market, not just in the aviation sector but maritime as well. Turkish Dearsan Shipyard recently signed a contract with Nigeria to build two offshore patrol vessels.

Pakistan Air Force completes training on Turkish Baykar Akinci attack drones

According to Greek City Times, the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) has completed training on its Turkish-made Akinci drones. This indicates that the Pakistan Air Force’s plans to introduce the UAV are on schedule.
