Rostec handed over Kadet-100 parachute system for state tests

The Technodinamika holding of the Rostec State Corporation has submitted prototypes of the Kadet-100 parachute system for state testing. The development is intended to replace the main landing parachute of the Russian army D-10, which has been used by airborne units for more than 20 years.

"Kadet-100" - a parachute system with a round dome, designed for landing units of the Airborne Forces and training jumps. The parachute allows you to jump with a full set of weapons at speeds up to 350 km/h. A feature of the product is increased stability and high maneuverability, which is provided by the design of the parachute system with control lines. They are brought to the front risers of the suspension system, are easy to grip and do not require significant effort when put into action. Pulling the left or right control lines results in a quick turn in that direction. A paratrooper can make a 360° turn in less than 12 seconds, thanks to which he can avoid convergence with other paratroopers, inspect the area around and observe the landing site.

“Compared to the D-10, the Cadet-100 has an increased flight weight - 160 kg versus 140 kg, which will allow paratroopers to take 20 kg more equipment. In this case, the vertical rate of descent will not exceed 5 m/s, and the horizontal speed will not exceed 3.5 m/s. The minimum landing height of the new parachute is 50 meters lower than the D-10 parachute, thanks to which special forces can quickly start performing tasks. The new parachute will significantly increase the capabilities of the airborne assault units of the Russian army,” said the aviation cluster of the Rostec State Corporation.

The parachute system was created by the Ivanovo parachute plant Polet of the Tekhnodinamika holding.

“Prototypes of the parachute system have been transferred to the State Flight Test Center of the Ministry of Defense. It is planned that the state tests of Kadet-100 will be completed in 2023, after which it will be possible to begin the procedure for delivering the system to the troops,” said Igor Nasenkov, General Director of Technodinamika.
