In 2018, the Department of Defense awarded Bell a contract to manufacture and deliver 12 Lot-16 AH-1Z aircraft to the Kingdom of Bahrain.

The AH-1Z Viper, also called "Zulu Cobra", is a twin-engine attack helicopter. The first AH-1Z Viper attack helicopter for the Kingdom of Bahrain was completed on Sept. 30, and will be transported to Bahrain in 2022.

Work will be performed in Sakhir, Bahrain, and is expected to be completed in November 2024.
