Turkey will use Ukrainian engines for T-929 helicopter


The chairman of the Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI), Temel Kotil, said the company will be switching to Ukraine for the supply of engines for its T-929 attack helicopter.

According to Temel  Kotil, the helicopter is in the 11-ton class and can carry 1,500 kg of ammunition. TheT-929  ATAK II will be equipped with 2,500 horsepower engines and will fly as of 2023.

The helicopter is developed completely original thanks to the experience and operational experience gained from T-129 Atak . The helicopter is designed to suit various weather conditions. ATAK II  will be designed to be suitable for missions such as assault , close air support , air-ground and air-air combat, joint offensive operations, and armed reconnaissance and surveillance
