Myanmar Air Force inducts 17 new aircraft in service


On December 15, the Myanmar Air Force (MAF) inducted 17 aircraft into service at Meiktila Air Base at a ceremony to mark the service's 74th anniversary.

The Air Force commissioned six Yak-130 and six K-8W trainer jet/light fighters, a single ATR 72-600 medium transport aircraft, two Y-12 light transports and two AS365N2 Dauphin helicopters.

The 74th Anniversary Ceremony of Tatmdaw (Air) and the ceremony to commission airplanes and helicopters of the Tatmadaw (Air) into service was held at the Air Training Base in Meikhtila, attended by the Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Services, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing.

At the ceremony, a MTX-1A training jet developed by the Air Force was also showcased.
