Russian SMD bombers destroy surface targets during flight tactical exercises

The Su-24M crews carried out a massive rocket and bomb attack on the airfield of the mock enemy hit targets indicating the parking of aircraft equipment, aircraft on the runway, aircraft shelters, warehouses and the command and control centre of the airfield of the mock enemy.

Also, the pilots worked out combat turns, landing on an unfamiliar airfield, techniques for avoiding air defence, manoeuvring when evading fighter aircraft.

The flights took place at altitudes from 200 m to 1,000 meters at speeds of up to 1,000 km/h. During the exercises, the crews made 20 sorties, and about 100 launches of unguided missiles and bombs.

The entire flight and engineering staff of the SMD aviation regiment, as well as logistics and communications specialists, were involved in the exercise.
