MAKS 2017: First public appearance for brand-new MiG-35 fighter jet
As Paris Air Show 2017 came to an end, Russian planemaker MiG announced that we will show our new product MiG-35 to general public for the first time at MAKS 2017. Last week, MiG corporation conducted a series of negotiations with potential customers on the delivery of the MiG-35 fighter jet, MiG said in a statement.

As the head of the Corporation Ilya Tarasenko noted earlier, preliminary discussions held within the framework of the Paris Air Show make MiG hopeful that a number of contracts could be signed within next few years. This will become possible after finalization of government testing program and the delivery of the first batch of aircraft to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.

"It is very important that the aircraft receives recommendations from our own military before we begin export deliveries. Also, we plan to begin to work closely on possible detailed export proposals together with Rosoboronexport, as we offer potential customers not just an aircraft, but a complex product," Ilya Tarasenko stressed. "We plan that after the purchase our customers will use this aircraft for at least 40 years, which means that we will be responsible for its after-sales service, training of flight personnel and timely modernization," the General Director said.

As noted by representatives of foreign delegations - visitors to the joint UAC booth, where MiG-35 was presented: the concept of "open architecture" on which this machine is built presents ample opportunities for modernization and the use of various types of weapons, including foreign ones. This makes MiG-35 a unique product capable of communicating with already existing armament systems and being integrated into a single combat management system - an unquestionable characteristic of a fifth-generation aircraft.

The Mikoyan MiG-35 is a Russian multirole fighter aircraft developed from the MiG-29M/M2 and MiG-29K/KUB fighters. The MiG-35 was officially presented for the first time during Aero India 2007 air show. It performed it maiden flight in late 2009. In November 2016, two MiG-35 fighter jets were given to the Russian Air Force for flight tests in order to confirm the technical characteristics.
