Upon receiving the first shipment of the FZ Rocket System, the Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) supported by a team of Destini Prima Sdn Bhd (DPSB) and FZ technical representatives have successfully conducted live firing of the 2.75'' / 70mm rockets on Boeing F/A-18D Hornet and BAE Systems Hawk Mk108/Mk208 aircraft at the Kuantan firing range in February 2015.

"The demonstration was a great success." commented both the Commanding Officers of the No. 6 and No. 18 Squadrons. "All fired rockets hit their targets with a high degree of reliability".

The rockets were fired from LAU32 and LAU51 launchers fitted to Boeing F/A-18D Hornet and BAE Systems Hawk Mk108/Mk208 aircraft.

Designed to carry up to 7 or 19 rockets respectively, the reusable and maintainable rocket launchers guarantee high performance, low life-cycle costs, long service life, reduced integration works and minimal maintenance requirements.

During the Defence Services Asia (DSA) 2014 exhibition, the Malaysian government signed an important contract with Malaysian company Destini Prima Sdn Bhd (DPSB) for the delivery of FZ rocket systems, rocket ammunition, ground support equipment and spares for use by RMAF on F/A-18D and Hawk Mk108/Mk208 aircraft in counter-insurgency missions. As an appointed Key Industrial Partner (KIP) with Thales, DPSB is the one stop centre to provide integration, technical and logistical support services to RMAF.

FZ is a Thales owned company and is the European leader for air-to-ground rocket systems and rocket ammunition.
