The deal is worth up to $4.338 billion to Finmeccanica, sources close to the matter have told Reuters.Finmeccanica had originally expected to complete the deal in November, but that target was put back at least twice due to problems regarding pilot training and specialised personnel.

The contract will be signed in Kuwait, the source said. The aircraft are expected to be new-build of the fighter, with deliveries starting in 2019.

This new international success will follow an order from the Sultanate of Oman for 12 aircraft in December 2012.
