In November 2011 Russian Air Force will receive eight fighters aircraft SU-27SM.
 
Until the end of November Russian Air Force will receive eight new multirole fighters aircraft Su-27SM. The airplanes were already made in Komsomolsk-on-Amur.

These aircraft will be supplied in the framework of the contract signed in 2009 at air show MAKS and implying purchase of 12 airplanes Su-27SM for the Air Force. Military pilots already received the first four airplanes.

The Su-27SM repair and modernization of the Su-27 multipurpose fighter are performed under the contract signed in 2004 and providing for repair and modernization of the Russian Air Force's Su-27 aircraft.

All eight Su-27 airplanes to the supplied to the Air Force are newly built. Aircraft-builders of Komsomolsk-on-Amur also modernized a significant quantity of Su-27S fighters operated in combatant units into Su-27SM version.

The needs of the Air Force for Su-27SM fighters are estimated approximately at 200 airplanes.
