More than a thousand new cadets have been inducted into China's Air Force Aviation University, Chinese online media announced on September 4, 2017. These cadets will go on to be the next generation of pilots, and fly the J-20 jet fighter and Yun-20 transport aircraft.

The Indian Minister of Finance, Defence and Corporate Affairs, Arun Jaitley, declared the launch of production of HAL designed 5.8 ton category Light Combat Helicopter and dedicated the HAL’s role changer design upgrade program of Hawk-i to the nation in HAL premises on Aug. 28. Senior officials from Ministry of Defence, Indian Air Force and Hindustan Aeronautics Limited were present on the occasion.

Sikorsky has been awarded a $303 million contract for Lot I low-rate initial production of two CH-53K King Stallion Heavy Lift helicopters, associated aircraft and programmatic support, logistics support, peculiar support equipment, and spares, the US DoD announced on Aug. 31 on its website.
