According to the minister “the modernization programme of the C-130H is essential to meet the requirements of the Single European Sky regulations, as well as for support and modernization of these aircraft.”

The overall cost of the programme is estimated at USD32.3 million. The amount has been allocated by the ministry’s budget. The projected completion date is 2023. No other details have been disclosed for the upcoming contract.

Single European Sky is EU effort to reform Air Traffic Management in Europe, to cope with the increasing air traffic growth, in a safe, cost and flight-efficient and environmentally friendly method. The de-fragmentation of the European airspace would increase safety and flight efficiency, while reducing delays and inhibited costs.
