Pilots from Russia’s Northern Fleet will undergo retraining in 2014 to master the modernized Ilyushin Il-38N anti-submarine aircraft, a military official told journalists Sunday.

Last year, Iraq signed a $4.3 billion deal with Moscow to buy Russian weapons and military equipment, including around 40 Mi-35 and Mi-28NE attack helicopters. Iraq took collection of the first four Mi-35 helicopter gunships this fall. Iraq received the 13 Mi-28 NE this Friday which will be used in anti-terrorist operations, said Sunday the MP from the Iraqi parliament, Fouad al-Dorki.

According to Philipine Star The Department of National Defense is planning to spend about P4.5 billion to arm the 12 lead-in fighter trainer jets it is seeking to acquire from South Korea. The purchase of the 12 T-50 from Korean Aerospace Industries does not include any weapon equipment.
