Dario Marfè, Senior Vice President of Commercial, CSS&T & Proprietary Programs Business within Leonardo's Aircraft Division, underscored the remarkable versatility and robustness of the C-27J Spartan aircraft. This aircraft has demonstrated its prowess in navigating through the most demanding geographical, environmental, and operational scenarios. Its extensive operational history with various air forces worldwide positions it as an optimal choice for a wide array of military transport missions. These missions include paratrooper and materials airdrops, 'last mile' tactical troop support, Special Forces operations, medical battlefield evacuations, humanitarian assistance, and rapid responses to natural disasters.

The C-27J Spartan Next Generation introduces a slew of cutting-edge enhancements, including a state-of-the-art glass cockpit furnished with five multi-functional color screens. It incorporates a sophisticated radar system tailored for tactical transport missions and advanced communication systems. Importantly, its system architecture is designed for seamless interoperability with other transport aircraft. Furthermore, it easily accommodates additional features such as in-flight refueling, self-protection mechanisms, secure communications, and ballistic protection systems. These attributes equip the C-27J Spartan to excel in high-threat environments while efficiently transporting materials, light vehicles, and personnel to their required destinations.

The C-27J Spartan is highly adaptable thanks to multiple roll-on/roll-off mission kits and the capability to swiftly transition into the desired configuration for a specific mission. Of note is the Fire Fighter configuration, a testament to Italy and Slovenia's intergovernmental cooperation. This configuration features the second-generation palletized MAFFS II (Modular Airborne Fire Fighting System) from United Aeronautical Corporation, a global leader in advanced aerial firefighting application systems. This further enhances the aircraft's versatility, enabling it to respond effectively to firefighting and disaster relief missions.
