New AR3 Net Ray small UAS introduced by Tekever at Paris Air Show 2015

The UAS systems developed by the Portuguese company Tekever have been selected by the Portuguese Navy to integrate a Frontex Mission in the Mediterranean Sea this year. The AR3 Net Ray, which has been unveiled today at Paris Air Show 2015, is one of the systems that will be trialed in FRONTEX missions by TEKEVER. Because of its endurance of up to 10h, this UAS is a perfect fit to support many of the maritime missions being carried out.

Europe in the past few months has been shocked by a record high in the number of migrants dying in the Mediterranean Sea. In the maritime domain, there is a wide spectrum of possible technical means that can be employed to provide effective surveillance. However, it is clear that Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) could also play an important role in further enhancing border surveillance in the future”, said Ricardo Mendes, COO TEKEVER.

The AR3 Net Ray is a fully autonomous small UAS designed to support multiple missions, including Intelligence, Surveillance, Target Acquisition and Reconnaissance (ISTAR) and Communication Relay missions.

The new AR3 offers a wide range of payload options, including a 3-axis stabilized multi sensor gimbal capable of integrating several EO/IR sensor options according to each mission's specific requirements. Being extremely easy to assemble and operate, the AR3 provides a reduced logistics footprint, making it ideal for the most demanding tactical scenarios.

The AR3 is catapult launched and provides several retrieval options, including all-terrain parachute landing and vessel retrieval systems for maritime environments. The AR3 has an endurance of up to 10h, and offers an operational range of 120 km. It has a length of 1.65 m and a wingspan of 3.30 m.

Tekever's new AR3 can fly at speed up to 120 km/h and has a cruise speed of 85 km/h. It has an operational range of 70 km.
