Bell Helicopter, a Textron Inc. company, is exhibiting and showcasing large range of products at LIMA 2015, March 17 - 21 in Langkawi, Malaysia. “We are excited to participate at LIMA and to promote our highly capable, customer-driven aircraft and award-winning customer support to defense, civil and commercial operators in the region,” said Patrick Moulay, Bell Helicopter’s vice president of global sales and marketing.

Bell Helicopter is committed to growing industrial relationships in Malaysia, as well as bringing to market modern aircraft that deliver the greatest economic value to our global customers’ bottom line.

Subject matter experts will be available to discuss Bell’s latest military and commercial rotorcraft and customer support offerings at their stand (#B710) and at the aircraft on static display.

In partnership with the US Marine Corps (USMC), Bell Helicopter will showcase the Bell UH-1Y, the world’s premiere maritime helicopter, on display in the United States Department of Defense (DoD) Corral. The presence of the USMC comes on the heels of a successful bilateral exercise with the Malaysian Armed Forces featuring the UH-1Y and Bell Boeing V-22 tiltrotor. The Bell UH-1Y represents a giant leap in capability for the USMC with upgrades in ISR, targeting, precision fires, lift, and operational reach to support the utility and attack mission spectrum.

The 21st century multi-role capabilities of the Bell UH-1Y and AH-1Z are ideally suited to the Asia Pacific and the maritime environment of Malaysia. The marinized airframes are well-matched to state-of-the-art sensors and also provide superior corrosion resistance in sea/coastal/humid environments. With 85 percent of parts common to both the Yankee and Zulu, costs related to logistics footprint, training costs and burdens on the supply system are significantly reduced when purchased together.

A Bell 429 WLG, a light twin-engine helicopter featuring retractable wheeled landing gear, is on static display. The Bell 429 offers exceptional flight performance with a fully integrated glass cockpit, advanced drive system and best-in-class WAAS navigation and Instrument Flight Rules (IFR) capability certified for single or dual pilot operations. Additional safety features include a collective mounted throttle, damage tolerant hub and rotor system, and energy attenuating seats. It is the first helicopter certified through the MSG-3 process, resulting in reduced maintenance costs for operators. The buyer will take advantage of the Bell 429 WLG’s spacious cabin with extra large 60 inch side doors, as well as retractable landing gear for ground taxi operations.
