opening day brought a raucous display of speed and power across the southern
Gulf as rival Typhoon and Rafale fighter jets screamed over Dubai.

Spectacular display will run until Thursday 17 November
2011 at the Airport Expo Centre. The show has been decked out in the
UAE national flag colours to celebrate the nation’s 40th anniversary
in two weeks’ time on 2 December.
Total value of aircraft
orders announced at Dubai Airshow crossed $55 billion (Dh201.85 billion)
mark on the third day following big orders announced by Qatar Airways
and US-based Spirit Airlines on Tuesday.

The
Indian local made light combat aircraft (LCA), Tejas LSP-7, made its
maiden flight on Friday, March 10, 2012. The Limited Series Production-7
aircraft took off from the HAL airport at 4.27 pm and flew for 28 minutes.
