DynCorp lands US Air Force order for VIP Special Air Mission support


DynCorp International LLC has been awarded a US$21.7 million modification on an existing firm-fixed-price contract for the Very Important Person Special Air Mission contract, the US Department of Defense said on June 18, 2018.

This contract provides the following services aircraft maintenance, base supply and fuels in support of aircraft assigned to the 11th Wing and 89th Wing at Joint Base Andrews-Naval Air Facility Washington”, the US DoD stated. 

This modification exercises the last option period 7, Sept. 1, 2018, to Dec. 31, 2018.  Total cumulative value is estimated at more that US$455 million. 

The US Air Force 11th Contracting Squadron, Services Flight, Joint Base Andrews, Maryland, is the contracting activity.

The 89th Wing provides global Special Air Mission (SAM) airlift, logistics, aerial port and communications for the US President, Vice President, Combat Commanders and other senior leaders. It actually flies a wide array of VIP transport platforms, such as Gulfstream C-20, Boeing VC-25 "Air Force One", and Boeing C-32 aircraft. Also based at Joint Base Andrews, the 11th Wing is the host wing for Joint Base Andrews providing security, personnel, contracting, finance and infrastructure support for more than 66,500 Airmen in 148 separated units.
