"Work will be performed in Saudi Arabia, and is expected to be complete by Aug. 31, 2021. This award is the result of a competitive acquisition with four offers received. This contract is 100 percent foreign military sales to the country of Saudi Arabia," the US DoD said.

"The 338th Specialized Contracting Squadron, Joint Base San Antonio-Randolph, Texas, is the contracting activity," the DoD added.

The 338th Specialized Contracting Squadron provides world-class specialized contracting support to HQ Air Education and Training Command (AETC) and their associated partners/tenants for large dollar and complex acquisitions, source selections and strategic sourcing efforts.

The Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) currently operates 70 F-15S fighter jets and ordered 84 modernized F-15SA fighters. The F-15SA is a new version for the Saudi Arabian Air Force. The F-15SA will have a modern fly-by-wire flight control system in place of the hybrid electronic/mechanical system used by all previous F-15s. The variant includes the APG-63(v)3 active electronically scanned array (AESA) radar, digital electronic warfare systems (DEWS), infrared search and track (IRST) systems, and other advanced systems.
