"The planes with ‘red 40-43’ registration numbers will join the Krasnodar Higher Military Aviation School’s 200th Training Air Base in Armavir [in south Russia]," the press office said.

"The base in Armavir was the second to receive Yak-130 combat trainers. As of today, the base operates 34 planes of this type," the press office said.

"Earlier, another 42 Yak-130 combat trainers were delivered to the Krasnodar Higher Military Aviation School’s base in Borisoglebsk [in central Russia]," the press office added.

According to the press office, the Yak-130 combat trainer is designed for basic and advanced training of the operators of advanced and future warplanes, including supermaneuverable fighter jets.

This is the first combat trainer in the world, which has the same aerodynamic design and operational capabilities as the fourth- and fifth-generation warplanes in the subsonic regime.

Earlier, the Aircraft Plant in Irkutsk delivered six Sukhoi Su-30SM (Flanker-C) fighter jets to the Defense Ministry, with four planes designed for the Russian Knights aerobatic team and two intended for the 31st Fighter Air Regiment based at the Millerovo airfield in the Rostov Region in south Russia.
