Work will be performed at Tucson, Arizona, and is expected to be complete by Feb. 28, 2019.

The US Air Force Life Cycle Management Center, Air Dominance Contracting Office, Eglin Air Force Base, Florida, is the contracting activity, the US DoD added.

The AIM-120 Advanced Medium-Range Air-to-Air Missile is a modern beyond-visual-range air-to-air missile (BVRAAM) capable of all-weather day-and-night operations. The latest variant, the AIM-120D, is an upgraded version of the AMRAAM with improvements in almost all areas, including 50% greater range and better guidance over its entire flight envelope yielding an improved kill probability. The -D variant has an operational range of about 160 km and reaches top speed of 4,900 km/h (Mach 4).

ocured by 37 countries including the U.S., the combat-proven AMRAAM has been integrated onto the F-16, F-15, F/A-18, F-22, Typhoon, Gripen, Tornado and Harrier. The AIM-120C5 and AIM-120C7 are fully integrated on the F-35 and support USMC's F-35B initial operational capability as the only air-to-air missile qualified on the F-35.
