India hands over two Mi-35 attack helicopters to Afghanistan


On October 15, Indian government officials at a ceremony in Kabul donated two  Mi-35 helicopters to Afghan forces.

The ceremony was attended by India's Ambassador to Afghanistan, Vinay Kumar, as well as the acting Afghan Defense Minister, Asadullah Khalid.

“India supports peace and harmony in Afghanistan and assists all Afghans in securing a better future,” Vinay Kumar said. “The Afghan National Defense Security Forces (have made a ) stellar effort to provide an umbrella of security to achieve shared and common values against cross-border terrorism and internal threats".

These helicopters are replacements for the four helicopters India gave to Afghanistan in 2015 and 2016.
