Mi-171A2 helicopter has been certified in India and Colombia. The Russian Helicopters Holding can begin supplies of the latest multirole rotorcraft to the countries, the holding said.

The Mi-171A2 is an advanced medium multirole helicopter that combines the distinguished operational history of the Mi-8/17 series with the latest technology to deliver outstanding levels of reliability, safety and comfort.

The Indian civil aviation department confirmed the compliance of the helicopter with CAR requirements. The Indian authorities earlier approved the type certificate of VK-2500PS-03 turboshaft engine of Mi-171A2. 

Civil aviation authority of Colombia (UAEAC) also validated Mi-171A2 type certificate.

"Mi-171A2 is the latest modification of the two-engine Mi-8/17 helicopter. Rostec Corporation enterprises did a lot to obtain certification in India and Colombia. The type certificate of the helicopter was approved, as well as VK-2500PS-03 engine of ODK-Klimov. Mi-171A2 has category A type certificate of the Russian Federal Agency of Air Transport. It stipulates the highest safety requirements for civilian helicopters," Russian Helicopters CEO Andrey Boginsky said.
