Alongside the Ka-62, Russian Helicopters will showcase the Mi-171A2 and the Ansat and provide an update on the expansion of its after-sales support network at a presentation on July 10, at 11:00-13:45 at Hall A1 Radlett Suite. Russian-made helicopters – including a full-size model of the Ka-62 – will be on display at the Oboronprom stand E10 and E14 in Hall 1 throughout the show, which runs from 9-15 July 2012.

The Ka-62 is a multi-role medium-weight helicopter designed for cargo transportation, medevac and search-and-rescue operations. This commercial helicopter can also be used in the oil and gas sector and for corporate purposes.

“We are delighted to be showcasing our latest developments at this year’s Farnborough International Airshow,” said Russian Helicopters CEO Dmitry Petrov. “As a world-class company operating in a competitive, high-tech global marketplace we always enjoy the opportunity to demonstrate our capabilities on one of the world’s greatest stages. Our current line-up is stronger than ever, and the models we are bringing to the show combine all the qualities that customers down the years have come to expect from Russian Helicopters.”

Built using new technologies and materials, the Ka-62 is a single-rotor design, with an enclosed tail rotor and an airframe and propeller blades consisting of over 50% polymeric composite materials. Other features include a five-blade rotor, secondary hydraulics circuit, energy-efficient wheeled landing gear, strengthened fuselage and fuselage attachment points and shock-absorbing seats for the crew and passengers.

The Mi-171A2 is the latest modification of the Mi-8/17 series – one of the world’s most popular helicopters. The versatile light Ansat features the largest cabin in its class, and is designed for maximum flexibility of use in transporting cargo and passengers, search-and-rescue and emergency rescue operations. The new multi-purpose Mi-38 and the search-and-rescue modification of the Ka-32A11BC will also be demonstrated during Farnborough. and-rescue modification of the Ka-32A11BC will also be demonstrated during Farnborough.
