KRET ready to export Rychag-AV airborne jamming station

The Radio-Electronic Technologies Group (KRET), part of Russia’s state hi-tech corporation Rostec, is planning to start exporting the Rychag-AV jamming station, Vladimir Mikheyev, adviser to the KRET first deputy CEO, told TASS.

Several contracts are currently being discussed, he added.

"The export version of the Rychag-AV jamming station differs from the baseline model in some operational characteristics. Several contracts are currently being discussed and drafted," Mikheyev said.

KRET First Deputy CEO Igor Nasenkov said last year that there were no plans to export the Rychag-AV jamming station though foreign customers had already shown interest in the system.

Russia’s Defense Ministry is currently receiving specialized Mil Mi-8MTPR-1 (NATO reporting name: Hip) electronic warfare helicopters equipped with the Rychag-AV jamming station.

In all, the Defense Ministry has ordered 18 Mi-8MTPR-1 helicopters. Their delivery is planned to be completed before the yearend.
