The maintenance specialists have inspected the assembly quality, tested the advanced equipment, systems and mechanisms, as well as the motor in different modes. The pilots have performed at least ten flights to assess the performance of all control systems in the air,” Col. Igor Klimov said.

The Yak-130 combat training aircraft is designed for teaching, training, and maintaining the skills of fighter pilots. The greatest advantage of the Yak-130 consists in its complex control system that makes it possible to fly at high angles of attack and perform aerobatics with ease. Combat training suite on the Yak-130 includes simulated and real firing systems with air-to-air and air-to-surface missiles, bomb dropping, gun firing and on-board self-protection systems. The instructor can set and control "target behavior" from his seat in the aircraft. It has an automated on-board diagnostics and control system which makes the aircraft easy to operate and maintain.

The Russian Air Force is currently equipped with more than 9 Yak-130s. A batch of 79 Yak-130 advanced trainers has been ordered by the Russian Air Force, with deliveries underway to be completed by 2015. An additional order for 50 aircraft is being negociated.
