US Army awards Boeing $155M for Apache AH-64E helicopters.

The US army has awarded Boeing a $155 million modification contract for new-build Apache AH-64E attack helicopters, Pentagon announced August 20.

Boeing’s AH-64 Apache is the world’s most advanced multi-role combat helicopter. It is used by the US Army and increasing number of international defense forces. Notably, AH-64E "Guardian" is the latest version of the AH-64 gunship, equipped with new sensors, avionics and improved night operation capabilities. The helicopter features improved digital connectivity, the Joint Tactical Information Distribution System, more powerful T700-GE-701D engines with upgraded face gear transmission to accommodate more powercapability  to control unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), full IFR capability, and improved landing gear.

Work is expected to be completed by December 31, 2022.
